Dr. Terry L. Lawson, M.S., O.D.
Dr. Lawson served as Adjunct Associate Professor at Northeastern State University College of Optometry for eight years. He obtained his Doctorate of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in 1987. He obtained his Masters degree in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas in 1983 and a Bachelors degree in Physiology from Oklahoma State University in 1977. Dr. Lawson holds a second bachelors degree in Vision Science from Northeastern State University. Dr. Lawson served in Tulsa as the Commander of the 138th Medical Squadron, Oklahoma Air National Guard. His first six years of service was on active duty as a navigator in C-130 aircraft. Colonel Lawson is retired after serving twenty-nine years in the active duty Air Force, Oklahoma Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves. Dr. Lawson supports community service. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa. As a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Dr. Lawson serves on the Global Outreach Leadership Council and a member of the Tanzania Outreach Team. Dr. Lawson has lectured for the Kansas Optometric Association, NSU College of Optometry, several Rotary Clubs and for the Air National Guard. Dr. Terry Lawson is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, the American Optometric Association and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.

Dr. Gerri A. Herrin-Lawson, O.D.
Dr. Gerri Herrin-Lawson served as Adjunct Associate Professor at Northeastern State University College of Optometry. She obtained her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in 1987. She obtained her bachelors degree in Vision Science from Northeastern State University. Upon Graduation, Dr. Herrin-Lawson participated in a research project studying the progression of myopia in children. The results were published in Optometric Journals Dr. Herrin-Lawson has participated in several medical missions to remote locations in Mexico. These mission trips have been with Asbury United Church. Dr. Herrin-Lawson currently works part-time in the office. The remainder of her time is spent with her husband, Dr. Terry Lawson, and daughters Jennifer, Kacy and Kelsy. She does volunteer work for her church and children’s school. Dr. Gerri Herrin-Lawson is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Optomertic Physicians and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Cheri A. Watkins, O.D.
Dr. Cheri A. Watkins joined our practice in June of 2005. She graduated with honors from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in May 2002. In addition to her doctorate degree, Dr. Watkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organismic Biology in 1998, and a Bachelor of Vision Science in 2000. While in college she was a member of the NSU Honor Society and the Tri Beta Biological Honor Society. In addition to her training at university clinics and W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, she completed her externship at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Muskogee. She received many awards including: the Alcon Award for Clinical Excellence, the Pheiffer Award for Excellence in Ocular Pathology Research, and the Alcon Scholarship Award. Dr. Watkins is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, the American Optometric Association, and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Watkins also enjoys mission work and has participated in medical missions to Africa and Mexico. She and her husband Grant are members of First Baptist Church in Coweta. They enjoy spending time with family, traveling and sports.
